Kusadasi Travel Guide

by our Turkey expert Paul Baderman
Paul BadermanOne of the largest marina resorts on Turkey’s Aegean coast, Kusadasi is one of the brasher holiday scenes though in a beautiful setting and in easy reach of the best ancient civilisation locations such as Ephesus. There is a delightful off-shore islet, connected by causeway, known as ‘Pigeon Island’ which has a beautiful flower garden and ancient castle. The port can provide day ferry trips to the Greek island of Samos … but be warned, can also accommodate large enough cruise ships to briefly swamp the place with visitors. The local beaches are fine sand with all the usual watersport activities and the shipping coming and goings add interest.
