Kas Travel Guide

by our Turkey expert Paul Baderman
Paul BadermanKas was an important town during the Lycian era of the ancient world - during the 1st millennium BC - and has many sites of archeological interest. Equally, it is a modern super-holiday destination on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast with great appeal especially to sub-aqua enthusiasts and sailors (a well-appointed marina). About 100 miles west of Antalya, its own beaches are perhaps not the greatest in a region spoilt for choice in that respect but it is a still-charming, enjoyable town whose development as a resort has been rather better than some rivals.
