Bodrum Travel Guide

by our Turkey expert Paul Baderman
Paul BadermanWith the historic name of Helicarnassus, the town of Bodrum held one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the original Mausoleum, the tomb of King Mausolus and the extensive ruins are there to wonder at yet. Bodrum harbour is overlooked by the Crusaders’ castle of St Peter which is now appropriately the home of the Museum of Underwater Archeology. A fascinating town to stay in (good restaurants and nightlife), Bodrum’s own beaches are on the small side but the peninsula has countless easy-to-reach alternatives.
