Conrad FreethyThe Parque Natural da Ria Formosa is a nature reserve covering over 170 km˛. A short drive from Faro, the park consists of a series of salt water lagoons separated from the sea by a string of sand dunes. The area has an enormous variety of natural habitats that provide refuge, feeding and breeding areas for an large number of flora and fauna and is a haven for birds.
