Krasiczyn Travel Guide

by our Poland expert Paul Baderman
Paul BadermanA small village in Eastern Poland, not far from the Ukraine border, Krasiczyn gives its name to a famous 16C castle that brings a remarkable history into the present-day for visitors, accompanied by style and luxury. Especially notable for its oval towers, each facing the four corners of the world, it was originally a fortress, transformed by the Krasicki family into a grand palace, and always a centre of Polish culture and art. The park contains a wonderful plant collection, visitors can stay in one wing of the castle itself (plus out-buildings) and there is a superb restaurant where you can dine on classic Polish cuisine (wild boar and boletus cream!) as well as excellent regional wines.
