Siracusa Travel Guide

by our Italy expert Paul Baderman
Paul BadermanOnce described by Cicero as "the greatest Greek city and the most beautiful of them all", Syracuse has endured earthquakes, plagues & bombings during its more modern history. Today, its once forgotten historical gems have been rediscovered and the city offers a wealth of interesting streets and squares to explore. There is even a town lido (actually more of a rocky outcrop & platform) if the heat of the midday sun leaves you needing a quick dip in the Mediterranean.
