Kos Travel Guide

by our Greece expert Paul Baderman
Paul BadermanOne of the most attractive of the Dodecanese Aegean islands, Kos was an extremely important market centre of the ancient world. Although tourism is vital to its modern economy, it still produces a wide range of agricultural produce from its rich farmlands. Kos Town is a busy mix of resort and cultural/economic centre and other popular holiday destinations on the island include Kardamena. Hippocrates, of medical oath fame, was born here and the island was mythically visited by Hercules on his “12 Labours” tour.
