KosTown Travel Guide

by our Greece expert Paul Baderman

Paul BadermanA busy town, with two good if not brilliant beaches either side of the centre with its harbour. It was one of the first places in the area to develop as a mass tourist destination and there is still undoubtedly a ‘costa’ feel to it. It is hugely popular with the younger end of the market with a lively (aka raucous) nightlife complete with all-night beach parties. That said, the island is beautiful, with many sea and land aspects that appeal to even the more staid elements. There is a medieval castle and a fascinating real market reminiscent of the town’s Agora pre-eminence in the ancient world.
