Kardamena Travel Guide |
 |
by our Greece expert Paul Baderman
Situated on the southern coast of the Aegean island of Kos in the Dodecanese, Kardamena was a tranquil fishing village for centuries, having been an important trade centre in ancient times. In the 1980’s it evolved into a thriving tourist centre with a strong but not exclusive appeal to the youth market. Its nightlife is still lively enough for them but villa, hotel, and restaurant standards have moved to offer something for the more sophisticated traveller too. Above all, of course, the beaches and related facilities are tremendous - sub-aqua centre and every imaginable way of moving around on/in water.
