Hanioti Travel Guide

by our Greece expert Paul Baderman
Paul BadermanHanioti is a very picturesque village on the westernmost of the three spikes of the Halkidiki trident of peninsulas, Kassandra, in the northern Aegean. With very much a Greek island feel, being on the mainland means it is accessible by car with no ferry - itís about an hour from Thessaloniki, Greeceís second city. Excellent sandy beaches, backed by pine woods and with pleasant farmland behind them, it has a good mix of facilities and attractions for differing generations. Water sports, comfortable, mostly family-run tavernas, a good but not extreme nightlife. Not having the confines of an island, itís easy to explore the very attractive surrounding countryside and other areas.
