Gaios Travel Guide

by our Greece expert Paul Baderman
Paul BadermanThe main(virtually only) town on the island of Paxos and the arrival port - thanks to its fine natural harbour used from Greek and Roman times. Not surprisingly, everything happens by the water, from the cafés and bars to the evening stroll, overseen by the striking harbour-side statue of the ‘green man’. Regular boat trips set off to Antipaxos, the even smaller island, and in August, on Assumption Day, a real flotilla travels to the dazzling white monastery in celebration.
