Propriano Travel Guide

by our France expert Paul Baderman

Paul BadermanIn the far south of the island, almost facing Sardinia, the port and resort of Propriano is now amongst the most popular destinations on Corsica. Lots of excellent beaches, a good mix of French and Italian cuisine in sea-sited restaurants, an attractive wooded hinterland for gentle strolling or serious walking. There is little remaining of the ancient Roman/Genoese port that was originally here but a regular ferry can take you across the Strait of Bonifacio to neighbouring (Italian) Sardinia - visited by Homer’s Odysseus on his long trip home.
