LesDeuxAlpes Travel Guide

by our France expert Paul Baderman
Paul BadermanNot the mountains, but twin villages (Venosc and Mont de Lan) - although it is where the N. and S. Alps meet. Superb for skiers and outstanding for boarders, the resort is unusual with the lower slopes steeper and tougher than those higher up. The snowpark is renowned, with a half-pipe and cross-boarding trails plus ample kickers. The local glacier provides options in the unlikely event of poor snow - and even summer ski-ing (it’s also a frequent Tour de France stage-end). Ice caves, terrific aprés-ski, a heated outdoor pool, make for a varied and rightly popular destination.
