Conrad FreethyOfficially Chamonix-Mont-Blanc but more commonly known as Chamonix, this Fench alpine resort is an enduring favourite among mountain sports enthusiats of all varieties. In winter, the Vallée Blanche glacier offers unrivalled off-piste excitement for advanced skiers and snowboarders, whilst the main valley below boasts six separate pisted areas, catering for all levels of skiing. In summer, Chamonix is a mecca for hardcore mountain bikers, walkers & climbers whoo are drawn by the challenging terrain and jawdropping views that surround Mont Blanc. If you prefer the quick route to the top then hop on Chamonix's famous cable car up to the towering Aiguille du Midi at 3842m, from where you can almost touch Mont Blanc itself.
