Public Holidays in India

India is a multicultural society with a variety of religions, each with their own holidays which are celebrated to different degrees in different areas. Dates can vary so it's best to check on these as near to your date of departure as possible, however there some national government holidays that are fixed and on these days you will find government institutions and offices will be closed.
